This fully remote, full-time position involves overseeing proposal operations, bid defense meetings, and global third-party laboratory relationships. The professional in this role will collaborate closely with scientific, operational, business development, and proposal teams to analyze study protocols, design budgets, and support enterprise-wide strategic planning. Ideal candidates bring extensive background in the contract research organization or laboratory sector, paired with expertise in clinical trial operational delivery.
The person filling this capacity will also hire, train, and mentor direct reports while tracking departmental performance metrics. Responsibilities extend to representing the company during pre-award client interactions, speaking engagements, and industry exhibitions. Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor direct reports while maintaining staff and department metrics including productivity and turnaround time
- Review client protocols to determine operational parameters such as enrollment, feasibility, and study timelines
- Manage global third-party laboratory relationships, governance meetings, and invoice reconciliation
- Draft proposal text detailing operational assay development, validation, and sample analysis
- Partner with business development and project management teams to transition operational strategies prior to internal kick-off meetings
- Represent the organization during client meetings, capability presentations, and industry conferences
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in the contract research organization or laboratory industry, or equivalent relevant background
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing a global laboratory network across multi-site operations
- Proven expertise in clinical trial operational delivery, strategy, feasibility, and budget development
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in a life sciences discipline
- Advanced PhD degree preferred
