The organization currently seeks a full-time Sr. Manager, Engineering – Delivery Serving Infrastructure to direct the delivery serving infrastructure division.
This position suits an experienced engineering leader with a background in large-scale serving frameworks, low-latency execution, and developer experience initiatives. The incoming manager will oversee framework foundations, core vertical infrastructure, and developer experience pillars. Responsibilities include guiding modernization efforts, improving system reliability and performance efficiency, driving agentic tooling, and partnering with product teams to build scalable serving platforms. The person in this role will mentor senior engineers, establish technical excellence standards, and utilize artificial intelligence to accelerate analysis, debugging, and documentation while maintaining full accountability for final results.
Candidates must be capable of working on-site one to two days per week within commuting distance of the Palo Alto (preferred) or San Francisco offices. The role is open to United States based applicants only and does not qualify for relocation support. Compensation includes a base salary range between $242,402 and $429,545 USD alongside eligibility for equity.
Responsibilities
- Manage and expand the Delivery Serving Infrastructure organization across developer experience, core vertical, and framework foundation teams
- Supervise infrastructure modernization projects along with ongoing framework evolution and consolidation
- Maximize system reliability, performance optimization, and efficiency through fleet upgrades and continuous profiling
- Direct the Developer Experience pillar to construct automated incident management workflows, debugging tools, and agentic foundations
- Collaborate with product leadership to develop high-leverage vertical infrastructure solutions, product serving platforms, and business intelligence agents
- Direct the planning, rollout, and adoption of critical platform elements including shared APIs, observability, release controls, and debugging utilities
- Maintain high benchmarks for operational excellence and technical quality through architecture reviews and incident analyses
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders to enhance technical judgment across the delivery infrastructure unit
- Leverage artificial intelligence to boost the speed and quality of design exploration, documentation, analysis, and debugging
Requirements
- Experience managing software engineering teams and directing infrastructure engineering organizations
- Comprehensive knowledge of large-scale serving frameworks, infrastructure efficiency, reliability engineering, and low-latency execution
- Proven capability to spearhead developer experience programs, incident investigation workflows, and agentic infrastructure tools
- Demonstrated ability to transition engineering organizations from reactive upkeep to proactive resilience
- Experience deploying sophisticated testing frameworks, automated regression suites, and observability protocols to improve MTTR and lessen on-call burdens
- Solid operational and systems judgment with a history of balancing reliability, latency, scalability, efficiency, and engineering velocity
- Background in high-scale content delivery systems including recommendation, search, ads delivery, retrieval, ranking, or experimentation
- Demonstrated skill in applying artificial intelligence to enhance day-to-day engineering speed and quality
- Ability to critically assess AI-generated work through peer review, testing, source verification, and data validation while protecting sensitive data
