Responsibilities
- Design measurement frameworks and metrics to guide data-driven choices across the complete user journey
- Communicate findings and strategic recommendations regarding notifications to engineering and product leadership
- Execute opportunity sizing and write analyses that pinpoint areas for growth strategy enhancement
- Act as a thought partner to machine learning, engineering, and product groups on the notifications team to prioritize initiatives and scope projects
- Enhance machine learning models driving notification content and delivery through direct contributions, new signals, or analyses
- Mentor other data scientists by guiding project scope and exhibiting high standards of work
Requirements
- Over eight years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience applying scientific methodologies to resolve real-world problems using web-scale data
- Demonstrated background in experimentation, machine learning, and/or statistics
- Expertise in at least one scripting language, specifically Python or R
- Proficiency with Hive or SQL
- Strong product and business sense with the ability to define metrics and analyses from ambiguous questions
- Effective communication abilities to lead initiatives across multiple product areas and share insights via data narratives
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to iterate on products using A/B testing
- Background in leading major technical projects and influencing the work of others
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related academic field, or equivalent experience
