The organization seeks a Staff Product Manager, Programmatic Ads to oversee its programmatic advertising systems in San Francisco. This on-site position requires physical presence in an office setting approximately one to two times each quarter for collaborative moments.
This individual will take charge of building, defining, and expanding programmatic ad integrations and product suites. Responsibilities include coordinating with engineering, data science, design, sales, partnerships, and ad operations to shape automated and scalable advertising channels. The candidate will balance near-term customer demands with long-term automation objectives while maintaining user discovery experiences.
Ideal candidates possess deep familiarity with programmatic ecosystems, including supply-side platforms, demand-side platforms, auction dynamics, and deal structures. The position suits product leaders capable of utilizing data insights, designing buyer workflows, and establishing competitive differentiation in digital advertising.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate alongside product leadership to design and implement the programmatic advertising product roadmap
- Partner with engineering, sales, design, data science, partnerships, and ad operations teams to drive adoption and satisfaction
- Prioritize initiatives by weighing current customer requirements against long-term automation and scalability needs
- Maintain a deep understanding of programmatic ecosystems like DSPs, SSPs, auction mechanics, and deal types
- Ship reporting tools, streamlined workflows, and actionable insights for internal teams and programmatic buyers
- Utilize user feedback and data metrics to track success, prioritize features, and suggest product improvements
- Work with designers to build intuitive dashboards, interfaces, and reporting mechanisms
- Act as a primary subject matter expert on programmatic ad offerings internally and externally
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of product management experience building and launching advertising or ad technology products
- Demonstrated history of developing products utilizing data and insights to support business users and growth
- Practical knowledge of programmatic ad technology such as bid requests, auction mechanics, deal types, Open Auction, PMP, and PG
- Experience developing reporting or workflow tools for agencies, advertisers, or internal operations groups
- Background collaborating with DSPs, SSPs, agencies, or external ad platforms
- Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration abilities grounded in a data-driven methodology
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical work experience
