Job Description

Reddit operates a massive online ecosystem encompassing over one hundred thousand active communities and serving approximately 130 million daily active unique visitors. To scale its consumer experiences and advertising products, the organization relies on continuous, high-quality data labeling. The company is currently hiring a Staff Program Manager for Human and LLM Data Annotation Operations to direct its central data labeling infrastructure.

This role serves as the operational lead and strategic architect for the central labeling function in a zero-to-one capacity. The person in this position will interface directly with technical and product teams across the enterprise to establish request priorities and execution frameworks. Core duties involve turning unstructured product needs into scalable instructions for vendor teams, optimizing delivery models, and partnering with cross-functional leaders to introduce automated, LLM-based labeling processes that augment human annotation workflows.

The position is fully remote within the United States, with optional access to physical offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago for individuals who prefer working on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and scale the incoming request process across consumer and ads domains while establishing reliable delivery frameworks.
  • Design and execute the operational roadmap to incorporate LLM-assisted labeling workflows alongside human vendor teams.
  • Standardize taxonomy definitions and operationalize multi-quarter labeling initiatives for product experiments and safety systems.
  • Collaborate directly with product managers, data scientists, and operations leaders to connect labeling capabilities with overarching business objectives.
  • Work alongside the vendor manager to distribute task guidelines, address edge cases, and maintain performance loops.
  • Build, document, and standardize centralized request intake models, service-level agreements, quality assurance standards, and throughput metrics.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional background in data operations, vendor operations, or program management centered on data labeling, taxonomy infrastructure, or model training data.
  • Demonstrated ability to align engineering and product leadership while enforcing structured prioritization.
  • Strong capability to transform vague product specifications into detailed labeling instructions, classification schemas, and edge-case trees.
  • Practical background in utilizing LLMs, automated tooling, or synthetic data generation to scale traditional vendor annotation operations.
  • Proven capacity to collaborate internally with vendor operations and managers to convert project requirements into executable guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing cross-functional dynamics across monetization, ads, and consumer-facing product divisions.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation to independently review pipeline throughput, project completion service-level agreements, and vendor quality metrics.

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits and income replacement programs
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
  • Global benefit options covering professional development, workspace, and caregiving support
  • Family planning assistance
  • Gender-affirming care
  • Mental health and coaching resources
  • Flexible vacation and paid volunteer time off
  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Equity in the form of restricted stock units
