Responsibilities
- Build Edge systems combining internal components, open-source software like Envoy proxy, and multiple CDN and DNS providers
- Drive automation traffic management efforts to handle bots and crawlers at scale
- Design and implement request processing logic in Envoy for routing, traffic classification, and enforcement
- Write, review, and maintain codebase utilizing C++, Golang, and Python
- Collaborate with CDN vendors and internal platform groups on integration points
- Gather internal user feedback on the rate limiting platform to formulate a prioritized roadmap
- Mentor engineers, perform design reviews, and provide technical leadership through pairing and coaching
- Leverage artificial intelligence to speed up prototyping, analysis, and operations while verifying production-readiness
- Participate in on-call rotations for Edge systems, managing incident response and reliability enhancements
Requirements
- At least six years of professional background in infrastructure, networking, or platform engineering centered on traffic management systems
- Proficiency in C++, Golang, or Python with experience building L7 HTTP proxies such as Envoy, Nginx, Varnish, and Traefik
- Thorough knowledge of L3 through L7 network protocols with practical experience debugging large-scale production networking problems
- Experience gathering requirements from internal users, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and producing technical plans
- Track record of designing distributed systems architectures from initial proposal through proof of concept to production
- Demonstrated usage of artificial intelligence to boost engineering workflows while maintaining correctness validation
- Requirement to work physically in an office for collaboration one to two times every six months
Qualifications
