In this position, you will drive the platform strategy for CircleCI Server, a self-hosted platform tailored for air-gapped environments, regulated industries, and strict compliance requirements. Your focus will span across Kubernetes infrastructure, release automation, and internal tooling designed to help internal teams package and ship their services securely. You will also build observability solutions centered on OpenTelemetry and collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer support to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

- Improve installation predictability, upgrade safety, and day-to-day operations for customers running CircleCI Server.
- Manage the foundational Kubernetes infrastructure and associated internal and external tooling.
- Standardize observability for CircleCI Server using OpenTelemetry to facilitate fast diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Partner directly with Product and Engineering Management to align technical strategy with business objectives.
- Collaborate with Support and Customer Engineering to investigate and resolve recurring issues at the source.
Requirements
- Over 8 years of experience building production backend and infrastructure systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Go, including API design, data modeling, distributed systems, and operational tooling.
- Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and debugging production systems on Kubernetes and Helm in constrained environments.
- Experience shipping on-premises, self-hosted, or distributed enterprise software.
- Familiarity with AI-native engineering practices and daily utilization of AI tools.
