The company is currently hiring a Staff Technical Program Manager, Data Science to guide large-scale measurement initiatives across machine learning, generative AI, experimentation, and data infrastructure. In this position, the professional will manage a diverse portfolio that impacts how the company evaluates its systems, optimizes compute and cost efficiencies, and scales analytics workflows.
This role suits an experienced technical program manager who excels at navigating ambiguity, establishing prioritization frameworks, and aligning executive leadership with partner engineering groups. The selected candidate will direct strategies around experimentation roadmaps, Presto query optimization, Shopping infrastructure measurement, and developer productivity tools driven by generative AI. Mentoring colleagues and setting high standards for program management are key components of the assignment.
Employment is offered on a full-time basis. While the position follows a flexible working model, staff are expected to gather in an office for in-person collaboration one to two times per quarter, making the opportunity open to applicants situated anywhere within the United States. Responsibilities
- Manage the experimentation roadmap to accelerate product testing and shipping velocity
- Oversee programs focused on compute and cost efficiency across machine learning systems
- Lead cost optimization and evaluation frameworks for large language models and generative AI
- Supervise Presto query optimization and analytics agent support for company decision-making
- Measure developer productivity and evaluation frameworks associated with coding models
- Track cost attribution and usage patterns across shared technical infrastructure
- Evaluate Shopping infrastructure to guide future investment decisions
- Develop repeatable prioritization frameworks for a diverse portfolio
- Maintain transparent communication channels regarding project status, risks, and impact with leadership and partners
- Mentor other professionals and establish measurement program management standards
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience working as a technical program manager
- Demonstrated ability to guide complex, multi-team initiatives from the beginning through ambiguous situations
- Familiarity with or the ability to rapidly learn experimentation platforms, machine learning systems, data platforms, or large language model infrastructure
- Ability to make confident prioritization decisions with incomplete information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience building trust and representing program interests with executive leadership
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
