This remote, full-time position carries a salary range of USD 123,000 to 160,000 per year. Operating within a compact Strategic Finance team, the person in this role will manage forecasting cycles, month-end closes, and budget-to-actual reporting while collaborating directly with accounting and department heads.
This role suits professionals with extensive FP&A background who enjoy high autonomy and want immediate ownership over multiple cost centers. Daily responsibilities include tracking cloud infrastructure expenses, managing vendor approvals, preparing board and executive reporting decks, and leveraging AI applications to speed up analytical workflows. The position requires strong modeling capabilities and a solid grasp of SaaS metrics.
Responsibilities
- Manage expense forecasts, invoice approvals, vendor sign-offs, and cloud infrastructure costs for R&D operations
- Oversee headcount planning, non-headcount forecasting, and month-end variance analysis for research and development
- Drive expense forecasting, budget-to-actual reporting, and month-end close activities for G&A departments
- Prepare presentation decks for the board of directors, QFR, and investors
- Handle billings actualization, forecasting, and monthly finance presentations for executive leadership
- Collaborate with the accounting team through the monthly close cycle, including soft and hard closes as well as results reviews with budget owners
- Keep rolling forecasts updated, provide commentary on material variances, and lock forecasts monthly
- Work cross-functionally with department leaders, procurement, and recruiting regarding spending and headcount choices
- Use AI tools to accelerate forecasting workflows, variance commentary, and ad-hoc analysis
Requirements
- Five or more years of strategic finance or FP&A experience, preferably within a tech or SaaS growth environment
- Demonstrated experience taking charge of multiple business lines or cost centers at once
- Thorough understanding of SaaS financial metrics like ARR, NRR, gross margin, CAC, and CLTV
- Advanced skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and analyzing budget-to-actual figures
- Familiarity with enterprise planning tools, ERP systems such as NetSuite, and procurement platforms like Coupa
- Experience creating presentation materials for executive, board, and investor audiences
- Capability to operate independently with minimal direction across multiple stakeholder groups
Qualifications
- Prior background working in a fast-growing, pre-IPO setting
- Demonstrated AI fluency through active daily use of AI tools to enhance modeling, communication, and analysis
- Knowledge of COGS reporting and AWS or cloud cost tracking
- Experience utilizing HRIS and ATS platforms such as Workday, Ashby, or Greenhouse for headcount tracking
