Appen seeks a Strategic Project Lead - Finance to join its Strategic Project Management division. In this position, the professional will direct strategic finance pilots and research initiatives intended for financial AI model training and evaluation. Spanning from initial planning to full operational execution, the role connects client goals with financial knowledge and the organization's worldwide delivery network. The person in this role will guide frontier financial AI pilots, translating emerging applications into verified programs meeting specific benchmarks for financial quality, feasibility, and expense. Responsibilities also include determining how market data, financial reports, regulatory disclosures, and quantitative and risk models apply to model training and evaluation.

Responsibilities
- Manage strategic finance pilots and research projects for financial AI model training and evaluation from scoping through operationalization
- Turn emerging use cases into validated programs meeting defined standards for financial quality, feasibility, and cost
- Define how market data, financial statements, filings, disclosures, and quantitative and risk models are used for model evaluation and training
- Scale pilots into projects by developing workflows, expert requirements, and quality standards alongside researchers and delivery teams
Requirements
- Possess a strong background in finance, financial engineering, economics, or accounting
- Bring at least two years of experience leading complex projects, operational workflows, or finance initiatives
- Demonstrate depth in financial data, markets, accounting, or modeling
- Show the ability to evaluate whether a dataset is fit for purpose
- Maintain comfort working at pace in a high-intensity environment with an entrepreneurial approach
