NSSA is seeking a Training Officer for Carpentry at Wcrc Bulawayo. This Grade 9 position reports to the Social Worker and focuses on providing rehabilitees with necessary technical and business abilities to help them secure re-employment or establish self-help projects for self-sustenance. The selected professional will handle trainee recruitment, assess training needs, conduct instructional sessions, and monitor learner progress.
Responsibilities
- Recruit rehabilitees for vocational training programs
- Perform training needs analyses to evaluate prospective trainee suitability
- Develop weekly operational plans to support instruction
- Deliver technical course material to rehabilitees
- Instruct learners in basic business and project management for self-help initiatives
- Create and administer tutorials for students requiring extra help
- Develop, administer, and grade oral, written, and practical assessments
- Facilitate the procurement of essential tools for self-help projects
- Package and ship basic tools to their designated locations
- Build and repair assistive devices
- Prepare and deliver monthly administrative reports
Requirements
- Hold a Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery
- Complete an apprenticeship-trained artisan program in Carpentry & Joinery
- Possess a clean Class 4 driver’s licence
- Bring a teaching qualification or demonstrable teaching experience
- Demonstrate at least three years of experience in vocational training
- Maintain computer literacy
Qualifications
- Possess OSHEMAC 1 & 2 certifications
- Have prior experience working with persons with disabilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of aluminium fabrication
