Job Description
Tupande's Soko factories in Kenya are hiring an electrical maintenance engineer or specialist on a two-year fixed-term contract, based in Rukanga. The post suits a candidate with three to five years of experience who can carry out hands-on electrical repairs, fault finding and control-system work on processing machinery.
Duties also include preventive maintenance and calibration logged in the CMMS, safety checks, and coaching machine operators on basic electrical checks, all under food safety and safe working rules.
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical repairs, wiring and calibration on critical processing machinery
- Diagnose control panel faults, drives, sensors and PLC inputs and outputs
- Complete preventive maintenance and calibration tasks scheduled in the CMMS, and keep component logs
- Teach machine operators basic checks on electrical controls, emergency stop buttons and indicator lights
Requirements
- A diploma or degree in electrical, electronics or mechatronics engineering
- Three to five years of relevant hands-on electrical experience
- Active licensing to do electrical work in Kenya, with EPRA or DOSH alignment preferred
- Practical skill in tracing electrical faults to their underlying causes on industrial machinery
Qualifications
- Experience with automated components, heaters, dehydrators or macadamia processing controls is preferred
- Working knowledge of CMMS platforms such as SAP PM, Maximo or Limble
- Understanding of food safety management and HACCP requirements for plant maintenance
