Intelerad is seeking a remote UI/UX Researcher & Designer for a full-time position with a base salary ranging from USD 64,500 to 86,000 per year. In this role, the professional will independently direct research and design initiatives for one or more product segments, collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and end users. Key duties include managing the full lifecycle of qualitative and quantitative user research, building wireframes and interactive prototypes, and establishing design standards across the product line. This position requires active engagement with clinical users, deep empathy, clear communication of design rationale to technical audiences, and mentoring junior team members.
The role is ideal for a practitioner with a background in design systems, user experience research methods, and translating complex technical or clinical workflows into accessible software experiences.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative user research across the product lifecycle using methods such as usability tests, interviews, field studies, and surveys
- Define research methodologies and priorities for specific product areas while coordinating with product management and recruiting participants
- Synthesize research data into actionable insights, journey maps, and personas to guide roadmap decisions
- Maintain and develop the internal research repository to ensure findings remain accessible and informative
- Design interfaces from concept to release, producing wireframes, functional prototypes, storyboards, and detailed specifications
- Promote and implement design standards to maintain consistency across the entire product suite
- Communicate research and design choices clearly to engineers, stakeholders, and leadership through presentations and facilitation
- Guide and mentor less experienced designers and researchers by sharing best practices and methodologies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Psychology, Graphic Design, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in user experience research and UI/UX design
- Portfolio showcasing strong web and mobile design capabilities combined with end-to-end research projects
- Demonstrated proficiency in standard design applications such as Figma or Adobe Creative Cloud tools
- Proven expertise in creating wireframes, design specifications, and interactive prototypes
- Direct experience planning and executing qualitative and quantitative user research independently
- Familiarity with research tools and repositories like Dovetail, UserZoom, or Optimal Workshop
- Thorough understanding of human-computer interaction principles and design best practices
- Strong ability to explain design rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Qualifications
- Experience creating prototypes using front-end tools like HTML and CSS
- Background working in healthcare IT or complex enterprise software environments
- Prior experience conducting user research involving clinical or healthcare professionals
- Familiarity with inclusive design practices and WCAG accessibility standards
- Experience with survey design and basic statistical data analysis
- Background working within Agile software development frameworks
- Prior experience informally guiding or mentoring other researchers and designers
