Intelerad, a global provider of medical imaging software supporting nearly 2,000 healthcare organizations and employing close to 800 people, is seeking a remote Senior Implementation Engineer. In this role, you will take charge of end-to-end technical delivery for customer environments moving onto the InSight PACS platform. You will serve as the primary technical expert for system commissioning and interoperability across NHS trusts, private healthcare providers, and third-party partners. This position combines hands-on technical execution—such as integration design, data migration, and database troubleshooting—with day-to-day coordination of the implementation team and mentoring for less experienced engineers.
This opportunity is well-suited for a seasoned technical professional with a strong background in healthcare imaging IT, interoperability standards, and technical team leadership. While the primary focus remains on successful project delivery and architectural integration, you will also collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Client Experience teams. Intelerad operates as an equal opportunity employer committed to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end technical delivery for PACS building, integration, and migration initiatives.
- Design and troubleshoot integrations across PACS, RIS, EPR, VNA, and other clinical systems.
- Plan and execute imaging data migrations, including database querying and issue resolution.
- Coordinate daily workloads and technical delivery activities across the implementation team.
- Provide direct technical leadership, mentorship, and escalation support to fellow engineers.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Client teams to enhance integration capabilities and maintain technical documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing, integrating, or migrating PACS, RIS, VNA, or related healthcare imaging systems.
- Extensive working knowledge of DICOM services including C-Store, C-Find, C-Move, and Modality Worklist.
- Practical experience with HL7 messaging within healthcare integration scenarios.
- Strong SQL and database proficiency for querying, interrogating, and troubleshooting backend data stores.
- Direct background in PACS building, configuration, and system commissioning inside regulated healthcare settings.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, coordinating, or mentoring engineers within a technical delivery team.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working alongside NHS organizations, including familiarity with procurement processes and digital information governance.
- Familiarity with cloud-hosted healthcare applications and services.
- Experience handling imaging archive consolidation or VNA migration programs.
- Exposure to contributing to architectural standards or reference frameworks for on-premises, hybrid, or cloud environments.
- Relevant certifications in project delivery, implementation, or healthcare IT.
