Responsibilities

  • Direct the underwriting and credit risk validation sector and establish strategic priorities for the domain
  • Lead, guide, and mentor a team of quantitative professionals
  • Conduct independent, hands-on validations of sophisticated machine learning models used in credit risk and underwriting
  • Review model stability, data integrity, and conceptual soundness through comprehensive monitoring and testing
  • Detect model weaknesses and work with developers to resolve and track validation findings
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve and implement the enterprise-wide Model Risk Management framework
  • Coordinate alongside Compliance, Internal Controls, and Accounting to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met

Requirements

  • 9 or more years of professional background in a technical field such as model validation, quantitative analytics, or model development
  • Demonstrated expertise in credit risk management, underwriting, and machine learning modeling
  • Advanced scripting capability in Python
  • Proficiency in utilizing SQL for manipulating and analyzing complex, large-scale datasets
  • Proven history of hiring, mentoring, and managing quantitative teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctor of Philosophy in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, or Statistics
