In this role, the intern will apply statistical rigor to product decisions by collaborating with mentors across design, product, engineering, and data teams. Responsibilities include building surveys to gauge preferences and sentiments of creators, advertisers, merchants, and platform users, as well as modeling user attitudes alongside log and usage data. The position offers two available start date windows: mid-May through early August 2027, or mid-June through early September 2027.

Responsibilities
- Shape the product roadmap through exploratory data analysis to understand user behavior and trends
- Design and deploy surveys to gather insights on sentiments and preferences from users, merchants, creators, and advertisers
- Combine survey results and log analysis to explore the intersection of user behaviors and attitudes
- Communicate critical insights cross-functionally by partnering with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a PhD program studying statistics, applied sciences, sociology, psychology, computer science, or a related field
- Anticipated PhD completion by June 2027
- Demonstrated experience in multivariate, inferential, and descriptive statistics, alongside experimental design
- Practical experience using Python, R, or SQL
- Background in survey methodology, covering data analysis and survey development
- Ability to connect data analysis to business problems to influence performance
