The company seeks a strategic and hands-on VP, Engineering & Facilities to guide the technical capabilities and infrastructure supporting their compounding and pharmacy fulfillment network. In this leadership position, the executive will oversee end-to-end technical ecosystems, including cleanrooms, utility systems, automation, and manufacturing layouts. This professional acts as the primary engineering partner for Pharmacy, Quality, and Operations departments while steering major capital investments and multi-site facility expansions.
This opportunity suits an experienced engineering leader with a background in highly regulated, precision environments who can manage large capital programs, establish compliance standards, and lead multidisciplinary technical teams. The position requires guiding operations through periods of rapid growth while balancing regulatory requirements with execution speed and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and direct enterprise engineering strategies across pharmacy, compounding, and fulfillment operations
- Oversee the design, construction, commissioning, and continuous support of controlled environments and cleanrooms
- Manage large-scale capital investments and infrastructure initiatives totaling 100 million dollars or more
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Pharmacy teams to satisfy regulatory expectations including cGMP, FDA regulations, and Board of Pharmacy rules
- Drive improvements in reliability, capacity, throughput, and cost management through data-driven methodologies and automation
- Build and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering organization spanning multiple sites
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive engineering leadership experience within operations engineering, manufacturing engineering, facilities engineering, or technical services
- Demonstrated background in overseeing large-scale capital projects covering automation, equipment, and facility construction
- Practical knowledge of quality systems, validation, change control, and GMP or USP standards
- Previous professional exposure in regulated industries such as biotechnology, medical devices, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or 503A and 503B compounding
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical field
- Direct familiarity with aseptic processing, sterile manufacturing, or pharmacy compounding
- Background in designing, qualifying, or operating regulated facility systems and cleanrooms
- Previous experience implementing robotics, controls, and high-throughput fulfillment or automation systems
- Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous-improvement certification
