GoFasti, a Talent-as-a-Service provider connecting Latin American professionals with international companies, is hiring a remote Senior DevOps Engineer on a contract basis. The selected professional will be embedded with a client of GoFasti to design and maintain cloud infrastructure while supporting high-performance Java backend services.
This role suits an adaptable, detail-oriented engineer possessing strong communication abilities and a commitment to continuous learning. Responsibilities include building resilient cloud architectures, establishing containerization strategies, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and integrating observability and security measures into deployment workflows.
Candidates must be based in Latin America, fluent in English, and ready to manage multiple concurrent client engagements. The position involves guiding technical conversations, writing comprehensive documentation, and deploying high-availability systems with automated failover and disaster recovery capabilities. GoFasti utilizes a payroll platform for this full-time contract engagement. The hiring workflow consists of an application review, an initial screening with the GoFasti team, client profile approval, a client interview, and subsequent onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Architect cloud-native infrastructure solutions adhering to industry best practices and client objectives
- Produce technical documentation including architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and migration roadmaps
- Lead technical conversations with clients to transform requirements into actionable plans
- Manage production cloud environments hosting Java backend services
- Standardize orchestration and containerization using Kubernetes and Docker
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery
- Implement observability methods to evaluate performance and optimize Java applications
- Enforce Security as Code practices alongside automated identity management and compliance within pipelines
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and frameworks
- Deploy high-availability configurations, automated failover, and disaster recovery plans
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles
- Proven capability to deliver and manage infrastructure across several concurrent client projects
- Extensive knowledge of the Java ecosystem including Java 8, 11, 17, or 21, and running Spring Boot and Spring Cloud at scale
- Production experience utilizing event-streaming platforms like Apache Kafka, Confluent, or AWS MSK
- Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
- Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Fluency in English
- Residency in Latin America
