Job Description
Tamara is seeking an Accountant to support its financial operations in the United Arab Emirates. Tamara operates as a prominent fintech platform in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, serving over 25 million customers and collaborating with more than 130,000 partner merchants across sectors such as retail, travel, education, and healthcare. The enterprise receives backing from investors including Sanabil Investments, a wholly owned entity of the Public Investment Fund, and SNB Capital.
This position is suited for a detail-oriented professional who excels at collaborating with cross-functional teams and applying analytical capabilities to financial data. The selected individual will participate in month-end and year-end procedures, financial control, and process automation within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute month-end and year-end closing activities accurately and on time
- Record journal entries, accruals, and maintain the chart of accounts
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and verify sub-ledgers against the general ledger
- Investigate unusual balance fluctuations and coordinate with internal squads for transaction reconciliation
- Document accounting policies, uphold financial control procedures, and monitor transactions for regulatory compliance
- Identify process inefficiencies and pursue automation opportunities
- Engage in personal development by setting career objectives and staying informed on accounting industry trends
Requirements
- Possess at least 5 years of professional experience in accounting, financial control, or related areas
- Hold an ACCA, CA, or equivalent certification
- Demonstrate background in the fintech, technology, or financial services industries
- Show proficiency in executing month-end and year-end closing tasks
- Exhibit thorough knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS
- Display advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite software
- Background in building and executing financial control processes and procedures
- Familiarity with Islamic Finance and shariah-compliant products
