Job Description
Tamara, a fintech business active across Saudi Arabia and the GCC, serves over 25 million customers and 130,000+ partner merchants, and is recruiting an AML Officer. The posting does not state a city or country for this role. The position is full-time and on-site. The officer applies anti-money-laundering rules to the company's daily operations.
Core duties include checking merchant KYC files at the second line of defence before onboarding is approved, and keeping a log of verified merchants for reporting. The officer also samples consumer KYC files periodically and reports shortcomings. Each merchant must carry the correct MCC code and AML risk rating, which should reflect where the merchant is located, what it offers, its sales channels and its legal form. Transaction monitoring and AML and fraud scenarios must be kept in place and updated regularly.
Compliance testing forms another large part of the role. The officer inspects company divisions and units, writes up findings and observations, escalates breaches, and agrees action plans with the department concerned to prevent repeat violations. The officer also reviews marketing and promotional material and passes feedback to the Director of Compliance.
Candidates should hold a bachelor-level degree in law, business administration or a closely aligned subject, and have at least two years in a similar role under SAMA. A fintech and payments background is strongly preferred. Strong presentation, organisation and negotiation skills are expected, along with a data-led approach to problem solving.
