Coinbase is hiring a full-time Privacy Analyst to manage its Privacy Incident Management program, reporting directly to the Head of Privacy. Coinbase operates as a remote-first organization with regular in-person working sessions.
This position requires an individual who excels in ambiguous situations, coordinates cross-functional efforts during time-sensitive moments, and develops durable processes. The Privacy Analyst will direct privacy incident responses as the designated Incident Commander, partnering with Privacy Legal, Security, Product, Engineering, and Communications teams to handle personal data incidents.
The role suits professionals with a background in privacy, security, incident response, technology risk, or operational risk who can communicate technical findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end Privacy Incident Management program including workflows, escalation paths, documentation, and automation
- Lead privacy incident response as Incident Commander to guide analysis, remediation, and follow-through
- Maintain on-call readiness for incident triage, severity classification, and urgent escalations
- Conduct incident retrospectives, monitor remediation items, and deliver metrics and reporting
- Foster cross-functional and cross-geographic stakeholder relationships to support readiness and accountability
- Assist with broader Privacy initiatives during lower-volume periods such as tooling development and automation
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in privacy, security, incident response, technology risk, or a related operational risk function
- Demonstrated incident management capabilities with experience communicating privacy risk to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience leading technical investigations within cloud-native architectures utilizing SQL, Python, and data analysis tools
- Background in building automation to decrease manual operational tasks and boost incident response efficiency
- Working knowledge of privacy regulations, frameworks, data subject rights, and privacy controls
