Within the Data Science organization, the Analytics Engineering team seeks a professional to design, implement, and maintain foundational data infrastructure. This position sits squarely between data science and data engineering, collaborating closely with teams across consumer, ads, and marketing operations.
The person in this role will build reliable analytics infrastructure that empowers colleagues to enhance user experiences and expand the platform's user base. Candidates should possess a strong focus on automation and consistency while acting as a bridge between those who produce data and those who consume it. The position offers a base salary between USD 164,200 and 229,990 per year, alongside equity options and comprehensive benefits for US-based staff.
Responsibilities
- Contribute directly to performance, automation, reliability, and data quality initiatives
- Oversee a collection of data products providing trustworthy information
- Build and maintain reliable workflows and pipelines for data transformation, ingestion, and processing
- Partner with engineering colleagues to verify the dependability of data pipelines
- Design and execute checks for data quality, testing routines, and system monitoring
- Establish new data connections across external and internal platforms
- Create internal applications and tools to facilitate reporting and analysis
- Encourage widespread utilization of internal data tools with an emphasis on automation and consistency
- Consult with leadership, engineering managers, and data scientists on foundational data strategy and roadmap development
Requirements
- At least three years of professional experience handling large-scale ETL systems including strategy, maintenance, and implementation
- Experience developing clean and maintainable production systems utilizing Python
- Familiarity with manipulating structured and unstructured data at massive scale
- Understanding of data modeling principles alongside ETL and ELT design patterns
- Experience utilizing data workflows such as Airflow
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in computer science or another quantitative discipline
- Programming proficiency across Python, SQL, Spark, Scala, or similar languages
- Background in front-end or back-end engineering
- Experience conducting data analysis and building dashboard designs
- Knowledge of functional and technical designs for MPP and relational databases
- Demonstrated history of cross-functional collaboration and execution
- Familiarity with agentic AI-assisted development practices
