Job Description
Monzo is offering a summer 2027 internship in its Data discipline, based in London with two days a week on site. The paid role is £42,500 pro rata at level L10 of the Data framework. Applications close on 1 November 2026, and offers go out on a rolling basis. Two June start dates are available.
With more than 300 people in Data, the bank relies on analysis for decisions that range from machine learning models that catch fraudulent payments to studies of how people use the app. Interns are placed with a team and tackle a real customer problem across the summer, learning how analysis is turned into solutions alongside experienced practitioners.
The work includes understanding how data-driven decisions add value to commercial products, trying new data methods on hard questions, and converting raw records into customer-facing stories through models, analysis and charts. Interns also build a foundation of knowledge about Monzo's data that will help with new products and features.
Exposure includes Python for wrangling, analysis and predictive work, SQL for modelling and pulling data, Looker for dashboards and spreadsheets for quick analysis. Candidates should be studying a STEM or computer science degree that involves programming, graduating in 2028, and be keen on learning new technology. They need to commit full-time for twelve or more weeks in the June to September 2027 window and must have unrestricted permission to work in the UK. Selection includes short questions, a programming and problem-solving exercise, and final interviews with the data team.
