Job Description
Culture Amp is seeking an Associate Site Reliability Engineer for its full-time SRE group. The role suits someone beginning their career who wants meaningful work, with pairing and mentoring while they learn how production systems behave. The team exists so that infrastructure can keep pace with growth in users, stored data and services without sacrificing reliability or the customer experience. The SRE practice is inclusive and open to flexible working arrangements.
The associate builds, maintains and improves services alongside experienced engineers, following established good practice. Work includes talking with product teams about their challenges, then shaping, building and measuring fixes. The associate makes infrastructure easier to observe through dashboards, alerts and documentation, and contributes automation that removes repetitive operational chores. Pair programming is a regular habit, and the associate is expected to work with AI coding agents in everyday tasks and help the team judge where they add value.
Candidates typically hold a bachelor or master qualification in software engineering, or a neighbouring STEM subject, a finished coding bootcamp, or comparable hands-on experience, plus some practical coding in any language. The team mainly writes TypeScript and Go; product groups additionally work in Ruby, Kotlin and Python, so comfort with unfamiliar languages matters. Some exposure to a cloud platform is expected; most workloads sit on AWS, with GCP use expanding.
Candidates should communicate clearly and kindly, work independently, take initiative, embrace challenges, and be curious about why systems fail. Curiosity about AI coding assistants like Claude Code is a plus. The posted base salary is AUD 90,000 plus superannuation.
