This full-time, on-site role involves practical work in continuity planning, impact analysis, risk assessment and disaster recovery, while coordinating with technology, operational, risk and regulatory staff.
The specialist writes and reviews continuity plans, policies, procedures and recovery strategies. Impact analyses reveal critical processes, their dependencies and the recovery time and data-loss tolerances that apply. Operational risks that could interrupt key services are identified and tracked. Disaster recovery plans are brought into line with continuity goals alongside IT teams.
Exercises are scheduled and recorded, including tabletop walkthroughs and recovery drills. During disruptions, the role assists with incident handling, crisis coordination and business restoration. Reports on continuity performance, weak spots and remedial steps go to management. Improvement work draws on drill outcomes, incident records and audit findings. Support for SAMA and other regulatory and internal rules, plus awareness sessions for staff, round out the job.
A bachelor-level degree in risk, business administration, information systems or cybersecurity is needed, along with practical background in business continuity, continuity planning or operational resilience. Hands-on experience running impact assessments, risk reviews and continuity tests is required. Understanding of disaster recovery planning and of recovery time and recovery point targets is required. Familiarity with SAMA requirements is preferred, and experience at fintechs, banks, payment gateways, insurers or other regulated firms is an advantage. Analytical thinking, careful documentation and clear reporting are expected.
Responsibilities
- Author, put into effect, revisit and sustain continuity plans, policies and recovery approaches
- Carry out impact analyses that pinpoint essential processes, linked dependencies and recovery targets
- Identify and monitor operational risks that could disrupt critical services
- Align disaster recovery plans with continuity objectives alongside IT teams
- Schedule and record continuity drills, desk-based walkthroughs and restoration trials
- Assist with incident handling, crisis coordination and restoring operations
- Report on continuity performance, gaps and recommended corrective actions
- Draw on drill outcomes, incident records and audit observations to refine processes
Requirements
- A bachelor-level degree in risk, business administration, information systems or cybersecurity
- Practical background in continuity management, continuity planning or resilience work
- Practical experience with business impact analysis, risk assessments and continuity testing
- Grasp of DR planning and of RTO and RPO targets
- Analytical rigour, clear documentation and reporting ability
- Clear communication, with the ability to coordinate technical and commercial groups
