Community Manager, French Speaking (Contract)

Reddit runs a vast network of interest-based forums, with well over 100,000 active communities and roughly 130 million people visiting each day. This contract opening is for a French-speaking Community Manager who will help expand Reddit beyond the United States. The post sits within the International Community group, which is part of the wider International Growth effort.

Applicants need to live in the UK or Ireland to be considered for this contract. The Community Manager will kick-start and nurture local communities in France, becoming a go-to expert on that market and building trust with volunteer moderators who create and run these spaces. Core work includes spotting the problems users and moderators run into, identifying opportunities in the market, and creating plans to find, train and expand a local moderator base.

A central task is building a funnel that converts highly active users and outside creators into active moderators. The Community Manager sets performance targets, analyzes numbers and feedback to learn what moderators and communities need, and passes those lessons back to refine Reddit's international consumer growth approach. Partners include the BD and Safety groups, plus Marketing, Engineering, Community and Product.

Five or more years in community building, project coordination, growth, operations or product advisory is expected, along with a history of community-driven projects that moved business results. Deep familiarity with French life is essential, covering current affairs, politics, customs, language, popular interests and online culture. Fluency in French and English is required.

Interviews for some roles may be recorded, transcribed and summarized using AI, and applicants may decline before any scheduled interview. Recordings are deleted promptly once a hiring decision has been made, according to the posting.
