Wise is looking for a Compliance Manager to join its team as a Regulatory Compliance Officer in Jakarta, Indonesia. This on-site role involves partnering with multidisciplinary internal groups and financial crime compliance professionals to support financial products in Indonesia. The position centers on maintaining regulatory licenses, handling official filings, conducting audits, and serving as the primary point of contact for regulators. The ideal candidate will focus on upholding compliance frameworks, monitoring regulatory risks, educating departments on local rules, and refining risk-based processes to align with company goals.
Selected candidates will analyze compliance procedures, execute quality assurance testing, and collaborate with operational departments to resolve audit items. This position requires active engagement with global operations and product teams, along with travel as needed. Individuals suited for this track possess a solid background in financial regulations or cross-border payments, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to thrive under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain regulatory licenses for Indonesia through regulatory reporting, filings, liaison work, and audit leadership
- Build trust with regulators by coordinating reporting, answering information requests, and communicating product changes
- Maintain compliance policies, documentation, and frameworks while leading audit processes
- Design and execute systems to track regulatory risks and compliance with internal policies and laws
- Educate colleagues on Indonesian regulatory requirements to help them build documented risk-based processes
- Test compliance programs, perform quality assurance, review findings, and work with operations to implement resolutions
- Collaborate with global product and operational teams while traveling to operational offices
Requirements
- Over 8 years of demonstrable experience designing and challenging processes across multiple products
- Expertise in cross-border payments compliance, including prior direct engagement with Bank Indonesia
- Fluency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Willingness to travel based on government regulations
