Job Description
Wise is hiring a full-time Compliance Senior Manager focused on fraud and AML investigations for its North American financial crime compliance oversight team. The role is based in New York and is on-site, with three days a week in the office. The manager works with the head of North American FinCrime compliance and a second-line compliance team.
The role oversees how financial crime risk is handled in routine work, centred on AML and fraud case handling, and on onboarding and continuing due diligence on customers. It advises teams and stakeholders across regions on Bank Secrecy Act and AML/CTF rules, and on Wise policies that apply to Wise US Inc and to Wise Canada. Other duties include serving on the US SAR committee and giving feedback to the reporting team, contributing to the yearly FinCrime risk review for Wise US Inc, tracking new financial crime regulation, and defining management information and key risk indicators that measure output quality, speed, queue size, consistency of decisions and SAR results.
The posting seeks deep knowledge of US financial crime rules, such as BSA, OFAC and NY DFS Part 504, and extensive experience with AML and fraud investigations. Experience in building and questioning processes, ideally spanning various products, is expected. Strong written and spoken communication, a sense of urgency, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to handle several projects to tight deadlines are also needed. Candidates must already be legally authorised to work in the US, as visas cannot be provided, and should be willing to travel to other Wise offices.
