Since 2017, the company has delivered care to millions of patients across the United States. Ro seeks a full-time Compounding Pharmacist to work on-site at its facility in Romeoville, Illinois.
This position is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with a background in pharmaceutical compounding who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Lead Compounding Pharmacist, the professional in this role will focus on preparing non-sterile hazardous and non-hazardous products while maintaining strict safety, quality, and compliance standards. Responsibilities include supervising preparation processes, managing inventory, adhering to documentation protocols, maintaining equipment, supporting audits and inspections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Compliance.
The role operates on a full-time schedule requiring 40 hours per week, primarily from Monday through Friday with a rotation involving every other Saturday. Occasional schedule adjustments may occur to cover holidays or staff time off, with at least two weeks of advance notice provided.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the lead compounding pharmacist to meet daily productivity and quality targets
- Compound and supervise the preparation and packaging of prescription medications
- Enforce compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant state and federal compounding guidelines
- Assist with preparation for regulatory inspections and support compliance audits
- Maintain accurate up-to-date documentation using good documentation practices
- Manage inventory levels and ensure all necessary paperwork is reviewed and filed correctly
- Participate in training new pharmacy technicians and compounding pharmacists
- Coordinate the scheduling of compounding technicians to guarantee adequate operational coverage
- Obtain additional non-resident pharmacist licenses if required by business needs
Requirements
- Valid pharmacist license in the state of employment
- Ability to work on-site 40 hours per week from Monday through Friday with rotating weekends
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a compounding pharmacy
- Extensive familiarity with USP 795 and 800 regulations
- Capacity to operate effectively in a high-volume, rapid environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
- Prior background in sterile compounding
