Job Description

Affirm wants a Content Designer II to shape clear, useful and trustworthy product experiences that help people understand and use its financial products. The role is remote in the UK. The posting presents Affirm as remote-first and flexible by design, notes that a few roles may need occasional office visits, and says all new hires are invited to an in-person onboarding experience.

The Content Designer embeds in a product team as a working partner, alongside designers, researchers, product managers, engineers and specialists from brand, legal, compliance and CX teams. Work stretches from early discovery to launch, then into experiments and tuning, and combines content strategy with precise UX writing. Responsibilities include shaping how users move through flows, how information is organized and ranked, writing in-product copy, notifications, emails and text messages, and contributing to Affirm's content design practice through style guides and shared patterns.

The ideal candidate brings two-plus years in content design, UX copy, content strategy or information architecture, along with a portfolio of shipped web or native app work. The position suits someone who can explain their reasoning, invite feedback and move work forward with support in ambiguous situations. The base pay range is GBP 80,000 to 118,000 per year, with pay grade J and equity grade UK 4.

Responsibilities

  • Shape flows, information arrangement and ranking, UX copy and customer messaging across web and native apps
  • Partner across functions from first idea to launch and tuning
  • Help teams make sense of customer problems and settle how product features behave and speak to users
  • Draft clear, accurate, human-sounding copy for in-app flows, alerts, email, SMS and prototypes
  • Lean on research, tests, customer feedback and metrics to make content choices and usability better
  • Take part in design sprints, critiques and content reviews as an advocate for clarity and accessibility
  • Contribute to style guides, writing guidelines and reusable patterns

Requirements

  • Two or more years working in content design, UX copy, content strategy, information architecture or adjacent fields
  • Work across web and mobile-app products
  • A portfolio that demonstrates sharp UX writing and released work for app, web or other customer-facing channels
  • Familiarity with usability, accessibility testing, research methods, experiments and how products get built
  • Can carry defined projects on their own, linking content choices to what customers need and to business aims
  • Partnering with marketing, brand, legal and compliance colleagues alongside PMs, engineers, designers and researchers

Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
  • Exposure to native apps, design systems, lifecycle messaging or content workflows that use AI
