Canonical is hiring a cost accounting manager to create scalable processes for cost review and recognition across the finance function. The role is home-based across EMEA, with the option to work from the London office. The manager reports to the Global Financial Controller and supports reporting that faces public market scrutiny.
The manager leads a team focused on cost accounting, with a strong emphasis on systems and automation. Work includes designing and maintaining processes for cost management, allocation and reporting, in partnership with the procurement, commercial systems and operations groups, plus legal and FP&A. The manager drives configuration changes in NetSuite and similar tools to automate the full cost lifecycle, assesses how unusual expenses affect cost recognition, supports the month-end close, and drafts accounting memos on significant policy matters. The listing expects a first degree (accounting or finance) or a different route, plus CPA, ACCA or an equivalent qualification. Prior experience managing cost and operating expense processes in a fast-growing business is needed, along with familiarity with ERP and procurement systems, NetSuite preferred.
