Affirm is hiring a Counsel II, Vendor to join its Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team on a remote-first basis. This remote-first position offers a salary range of $185,000 to $245,000 per year for candidates located in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT, and $164,000 to $224,000 for all other U.S. states. The ideal candidate is a practical, proactive, and people-oriented transactional attorney eager to help rebuild the vendor legal function from the ground up in a high-growth, technology-driven environment.
In this role, the attorney will partner closely with Procurement, Financial Partnerships, and other cross-functional teams to negotiate a high volume of vendor agreements while designing scalable operational processes, playbooks, and contract templates.
Responsibilities
- Lead the negotiation, drafting, and execution of various vendor contracts including SaaS, cloud services, marketing tech, data platforms, and payment processing
- Manage a high volume of deals efficiently while exercising sound judgment
- Design and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guides to help the team scale
- Identify friction points and implement solutions to reduce cycle times without sacrificing quality
- Partner with Procurement, Product, Engineering, Finance, Privacy, Information Security, and Financial Partnerships to deliver clear guidance
- Serve as a strategic business partner and develop training resources that empower stakeholders to self-serve on routine legal matters
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree
- Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- At least five years of relevant transactional experience in-house at a technology company or within a technology practice group at a top law firm
- Exceptional contract drafting skills
- Experience handling global or multi-jurisdictional transactions
- Working knowledge of privacy and data protection regimes such as GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, APPs, and GLBA
