The Interaction Design Foundation is hiring a Course Writer and Editor: UX, UI, and AI to join its remote editorial team. Operating as an online design and AI education platform since 2002, the organization serves over 1,150,000 learners globally with courses and Master Classes developed alongside industry leaders. In this full-time position, you will own the editorial voice and readability of published educational content, refining scripts, titles, hooks, and quizzes. This role suits a structured communicator who can translate dense concepts into clear, engaging language for both beginners and experienced professionals. You will work closely with founders, education designers, course directors, and video teams to produce lessons, improve completion rates, and maintain clear internal documentation.
This opportunity involves focusing on one major course creation project each month alongside continuous improvements to existing materials and promotional copy. The ideal candidate takes full ownership of their writing, collaborates effectively with AI tools, and demonstrates strong interpersonal and organizational skills. While a design background is not required, a genuine curiosity about UX, UI, and AI is essential.
Responsibilities
- Finalize scripts, hooks, headings, on-screen video text, and quiz wording across all published materials
- Collaborate with education designers, course directors, and founders to pressure-test and refine course structure
- Take a one-hour Master Class transcript and learning goals to draft finished lessons
- Provide constructive feedback to the video team regarding on-screen text, graphics, and animations
- Review completion rates and learner feedback to implement small, incremental edits that improve materials
- Write and edit articles, course descriptions, campaigns, and social media copy
Requirements
- Have at least 4 years of professional writing or editing experience
- Collaborate with AI for writing, research, and creation while maintaining human leadership over the final outcome
- Write effectively for a diverse global audience, including career changers and seasoned designers
- Maintain clear and up-to-date internal documentation
- Demonstrate fluency in written and spoken English with exact grammar and strong microcopy skills
