Axon Spain seeks a Data Analytics Support Engineer to join its support division remotely, with requirements to be within commutable distance to hubs in Scottsdale AZ, Seattle WA, Boston MA, or Atlanta GA, and up to 20 percent travel. Axon builds safety and justice technology with an overarching mission to protect life. In this position, the professional manages customer analytics inquiries and ensures the stability of reporting platforms.
This role fits individuals skilled in handling client inquiries from initial intake to final resolution. Duties involve updating Power BI dashboards, troubleshooting data model refreshes, utilizing AI assistants for SQL development, responding to outages, and delivering front-line support for Axon Records and Standards datastores. Team members collaborate with engineering and product units to resolve technical issues and document solutions for knowledge bases.
Responsibilities
- Manage customer support tickets regarding analytics from start to finish while recording detailed interaction notes
- Update and refine existing Power BI reports and dashboards by adding metrics, filters, and fields
- Identify and fix errors within customer dashboards, data models, and scheduled data refreshes
- Create brand-new dashboards and reports utilizing standard templates and best practices
- Optimize data queries and models to improve performance and efficiency
- Leverage artificial intelligence assistants such as Cursor, Claude, and Gemini to accelerate SQL creation and troubleshooting
- Monitor dashboard alert channels, triage outages, identify root causes, and coordinate fixes with engineering teams
- Communicate status updates and resolutions directly to internal teams and external customers
- Provide front-line technical support for Axon Records and Standards datastores by writing and debugging SQL queries
- Document common fixes and recurring issues through internal knowledge base articles
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience supporting cloud-based products within reporting, analytics, or public safety software
- Demonstrated expertise in SQL query writing, modification, and troubleshooting on relational databases like MySQL and SQL Server Management Studio
- Practical background in developing and supporting Power BI dashboards and reports
- Familiarity with XML and JSON data formats
- Understanding of computer architectures, server environments, operating systems, and storage
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for building dashboards and writing SQL
- Strong discipline in ticket tracking, documentation, prioritization, and follow-through
- Ability to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services background check and handle confidential information
Qualifications
- Experience working with Tableau, Crystal Reports, or SSRS
- Prior knowledge related to public safety and crime analysis
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in data analytics or computer science
