Data Scientists at Monzo are placed inside product and business areas, drawing on experiments, causal inference, statistical modelling, ML and analysis to learn about customers and steer product direction. The manager combines people leadership with strategic data work: growing the team, setting the data science direction for their area, and making sure the team focuses on the problems that matter most.
