Job Description

Freshworks is adding a Deal Desk Strategy Manager to help shape and accelerate its largest, most strategic transactions. This senior individual contributor answers to the Senior Director, Deal Desk and works alongside account executives and regional sales heads from first opportunity through signature. The job is on-site. The manager serves as a counselor to Sales, pulling in Legal, Finance and Operations to clear obstacles that stand between a promising opportunity and a completed deal.

Responsibilities include running Deal Desk activity on the region's biggest deals, opening strategy discussions with sellers before any paperwork comes up, mapping the steps needed to close each deal, and setting regular meetings with account teams. The manager owns structuring and order form changes, obtains internal sign-offs, negotiates contract terms and redlines with Legal, and coordinates pricing and revenue recognition with Finance and Sales Ops. The role also includes joining customer calls, serving as the escalation point for stalled deals, and recommending process improvements.

Applicants should have seven to ten or more years in Deal Desk, sales ops, revenue ops or related deal-support work, with experience on enterprise and strategic accounts. Sound judgment for separating complex deals from routine ones, a habit of guiding newer colleagues, and the stamina to cover quarter-end and month-end closes, including occasional evenings, are essential. The listed base salary is $156,825 to $193,725, with eligibility for bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Deal Desk work on the region's largest and most strategic transactions
  • Open strategy discussions with sellers before approvals or paperwork are needed
  • Document the sequence of steps needed to close each deal and keep the cadence moving
  • Hold regular meetings with account teams to speed deals from inception to closure
  • Own deal strategy, structuring and order form documentation
  • Secure internal approvals and manage contract terms and redlines with Legal
  • Work with Finance and Sales Ops on pricing, revenue recognition and terms
  • Join customer calls to discuss deal structure and terms
  • Step in as the go-to escalation contact when complex or stalled deals arise
  • Suggest changes to processes, templates or workflows for Deal Desk leaders

Requirements

  • Seven to ten-plus years in Deal Desk, sales ops, revenue ops or comparable deal-support roles
  • Hands-on work on enterprise and strategic-level transactions
  • Ability to advise AEs and RVPs on deal strategy rather than only processing paperwork
  • Solid command of contract structure, order paperwork, pricing and discount frameworks
  • Ease collaborating across Legal, Finance and Sales Ops on tough contract, pricing or revenue questions
  • Solid independent judgment when sorting deal complexity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including speaking with customers about deal terms
  • Experience mentoring or supporting peers, and interest in future people leadership
  • Ability to manage many concurrent deals under tight deadlines during close periods

  • An analytical, process-oriented approach to spotting patterns and proposing scalable fixes
