In this role, the Design Engineer will act as the primary design owner embedded alongside a product manager and an engineering team. The position centers on shaping the complete user journey across graphical interfaces, command-line tools, websites, and APIs. Responsibilities include making complex technical data and controls manageable for users while maintaining advanced functionality.

- Maintain high quality standards post-launch covering visual craft, accessibility, performance, error recovery, and instrumentation.
- Utilize coding agents for rapid exploration and implementation while retaining personal responsibility for debugging and testing code.
Requirements
- Demonstrated portfolio showing personal ownership of shipped software and lessons learned post-launch.
- Ability to build production-quality web applications using React and TypeScript within large existing codebases.
- Strong visual and interaction craft capable of simplifying technical data without sacrificing advanced user control.
- Competence in navigating graphical interfaces, command-line workflows, and implementation details.
- Experience using customer research and product data to drive decisions and communicate reasoning.
- Familiarity with coding agents in daily workflows alongside rigorous testing and debugging practices.
Qualifications
- Experience working with developer tools, infrastructure products, model marketplaces, or observability platforms.
- Background utilizing AI models, providers, inference platforms, guardrails, or related application tooling.
- Previous exposure to APIs, command-line tools, structured product content, or agent-facing interfaces.
- Prior practice building applications or agents using Vercel AI SDK or AI Gateway.
