Supabase seeks a Developer Relations Engineer to join its globally distributed team. The platform delivers an open-source Postgres development environment featuring databases, authentication, storage, edge functions, realtime capabilities, and vector search. In this position, you will serve as a liaison between the platform and its extensive user base of startup founders, weekend hackers, and engineers scaling applications. The successful candidate enjoys both writing code and educating others.
Your daily focus will involve producing impactful technical content, constructing real-world applications using modern frontend tools, and engaging with the technology community both online and in person. This position is stationed in New York, NY to facilitate regular video production and participation in local technology events. Supabase operates as a remote-first organization with a team spanning over 60 countries, and provides co-working allowances alongside flexible working hours.
Responsibilities
- Produce compelling technical content, with an emphasis on video, to accelerate user adoption
- Develop real-world application demos and tutorials using tools like Next.js, React, and Stripe
- Engage with the developer ecosystem by speaking at meetups, hosting livestreams, and acting as a public voice for the platform
- Foster community growth by celebrating contributors, answering inquiries, and channeling feedback back to internal teams
- Partner with product, engineering, and growth divisions to support new product launches and simplify user onboarding
Requirements
- Based in New York to support regular video production and local ecosystem engagement
- Strong engineering proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, Postgres, and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Svelte, or Vue
- Demonstrated experience in producing written or video technical content
- Ability to act as a public representative of a product on camera, on stage, and online
Qualifications
- Established audience on YouTube, Twitch, or Twitter
- Prior background in developer relations or open source projects
- Previous experience utilizing and enjoying Supabase
