This full-time, remote Digital Product Owner role focuses on digital services for the home automation market, alongside colleagues in product, engineering, UX and the business side.
The product owner manages the backlog for digital services across the product lifecycle. Scope spans apps, connectors, license structures, the paths customers take, online marketplaces, partner gateways and web platforms. The role turns long-term strategy into short-term plans, backlog stories and technical requirements.
Partnering with research and development, IT, design and business leads, the product owner oversees testing and launch of digital offerings. The role reviews customer needs and market openings, runs competitor and market analysis to guide positioning, and keeps delivery sound through Agile routines, minimum viable products and sprint-based shipping. It also assists launches and briefs internal sales, marketing and product staff on digital service offerings.
Candidates need at least five years in product ownership or product management, or a comparable role, shipping digital products and services. Professional German at B2 level or higher and fluent English are required. Experience with IoT, connected hardware or smart-home work would give candidates a clear edge.
Responsibilities
- Own the queue of planned work for digital services and apps
- Take on the Agile product owner role for digital offerings that span apps, connectors, licensing, customer journeys, marketplaces, portals and websites
- Turn long-term business strategy into development roadmaps and technical requirements
- Collaborate with research and development, IT, design and business groups to deliver and launch solutions
- Study customer needs and market gaps to pinpoint features with measurable value
- Track competitors and market trends to sharpen product positioning
- Coordinate teams spread across regions to keep priorities in line
- Assist launches and brief internal sales, marketing and product staff
- Monitor product performance and drive improvements from feedback
Requirements
- Five or more years in product ownership or product management, or a similar role, shipping digital products
- Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum and product lifecycle management
- Demonstrated skill at converting business goals into working user stories and specifications
- Strong stakeholder management and communication across international teams
- Analytical, customer-centric problem solving
- Professional German (B2 or higher) and fluent English
Qualifications
- IoT, connected-device or smart-home experience (strong advantage)
