Twilio is seeking a remote Director, Revenue & CoGS Accounting to lead its global revenue, accounts receivable, and cost of goods sold accounting operations. In this position, you will oversee high-integrity subledger workflows, direct technical accounting integration, and scale enterprise resource planning automation alongside Go-To-Market, Product, and IT partners. This role is well-suited for an experienced executive leader who can balance complex technical requirements with high-volume business operations while guiding a high-performing global team through seamless audits and evolving regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities
- Manage the strategic direction for global Revenue, AR, and CoGS accounting functions, subledger operations, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Integrate technical accounting policies into high-volume global workflows.
- Drive the operational vision for ERP workflows and revenue automation tools like Oracle RMCS and Zuora.
- Oversee variance analysis to explain financial fluctuations and performance narratives.
- Partner with Billing, GTM, Product and Pricing, and FP&A leaders to evaluate operational feasibility and compliance.
- Supervise complex accounting concerns regarding non-standard customer contracts.
- Collaborate with Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting teams on accurate disclosures and audit cycles.
- Evolve the global control framework, internal audit strategies, and SOX compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
- 12 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 6 years focused on revenue accounting within a large, fast-paced public company
- 8 or more years of management experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Expert-level knowledge of ASC 606, deferred revenue accounting, and complex CoGS structures in SaaS or usage-based models
- Extensive background using enterprise-grade ERP systems and specialized revenue subledgers like Zuora Revenue and RMCS
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and handle complex non-standard transactions
- Expert knowledge of the SOX framework and compliance controls for high-volume data environments
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant or equivalent certification
- Prior experience working at a Big 4 public accounting firm
- Background navigating the transition from traditional SaaS models to consumption-based or usage-based revenue frameworks
- Experience working in the CPaaS or telecommunications sectors
