This full-time, on-site embedded Linux role at Bosch involves developing and customizing Yocto-based Linux distributions for embedded gateway systems. The engineer cross-compiles the bootloader, kernel and root filesystem, works on networking and secure boot, and writes C code with Bash or Lua scripts.
Responsibilities
- Customize Yocto-based Linux distributions, including recipes, layers and machine configurations.
- Cross-compile and configure the bootloader, Linux kernel, device tree, initramfs and rootfs.
- Develop gateway software and device drivers, including multi-threaded and distributed systems.
- Implement secure boot, OTA updates and network security controls on embedded Linux.
Requirements
- Strong embedded C development on Linux platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Yocto or Buildroot, BSPs and device driver development.
- Knowledge of Linux networking, TCP/IP and industrial protocols such as MQTT, Modbus and CAN.
- 3 to 5 years of experience.
Qualifications
- A BE or ME in electronics or a related background.
- ISAQB certification is good to have.
