The organization is seeking an Engineering Manager for Core Infrastructure to lead production-critical systems and foundational engineering capabilities.
This position requires a hands-on technical leader who will manage a team focused on scaling infrastructure for future growth and AI-driven workflows, while eliminating legacy complexity and enhancing cost efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical judgment and people management skills to establish durable system ownership and reduce operational friction.
Working in a hybrid arrangement based in New York, the incoming manager will collaborate closely with product engineering, data infrastructure, and security teams. The role suits an experienced engineering leader comfortable with cloud-native architectures, reliability practices, and translating ambiguous operational challenges into structured execution plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a Core Infrastructure team responsible for production-critical systems and foundational capabilities
- Manage portfolio execution by setting priorities, sequencing tasks, and ensuring high-quality delivery
- Enhance the infrastructure operating model to reduce recurring support burdens and eliminate operational complexity
- Improve reliability, observability, and disaster recovery readiness across the platform
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Cyber, and Data Infrastructure teams to align technical improvements with business goals
Requirements
- Experience leading infrastructure, platform, SRE, DevOps, backend, or production engineering teams in a cloud-native environment
- Technical familiarity with production infrastructure systems including AWS, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, edge infrastructure, and observability tools
- Experience managing operational workflows such as on-call rotations, incident response, service ownership, and disaster recovery
- Willingness to operate as a hands-on technical leader capable of engaging with architecture, code, and implementation tradeoffs
Qualifications
- Experience operating infrastructure within regulated environments involving high reliability, security, and auditability requirements
