Job Description

This role focuses on designing, launching, and maintaining native iOS applications that help individuals discover and interact with content and communities. The position suits an experienced developer who can drive projects from technical design through execution while collaborating closely with product, design, data science, machine learning, and backend teams. The role requires strong expertise in building scalable mobile systems, improving performance and accessibility, and mentoring peers on engineering standards.

Reddit provides a compensation package that includes base pay ranging from $164,000 to $229,000 USD, along with eligibility for restricted stock units. Responsibilities

Build and evolve user-facing iOS experiences for content consumption, creation, and community engagement
Lead entire project lifecycles spanning product definition, technical design, implementation, experimentation, and launch
Collaborate with product, design, data science, machine learning, backend, and platform teams to shape strategy and deliver user impact
Enhance iOS architecture, performance, reliability, accessibility, and developer workflows while mentoring teammates

Requirements

Professional background in developing native iOS applications utilizing Swift
Strong understanding of iOS frameworks and application architecture
Ability to write clean, testable, and idiomatic code with solid debugging and performance optimization skills
Experience in mobile systems design and evaluating architectural tradeoffs from APIs to user interfaces

Qualifications

Familiarity with experimentation, feature flags, instrumentation, analytics, and quality-of-experience metrics
Exposure to AVFoundation, VideoToolbox, HLS, or media playback
Experience working with recommendation systems, accessibility, or machine learning-integrated products
