Job Description

Ebury's Malaga hub is hiring an engineering manager who will grow and direct the people behind a client risk management application. The product lets clients see their currency exposure, design suitable risk strategies and shield their businesses from unfavourable exchange-rate moves through hedging. The post is full time and hybrid: four days in the office, one day from home.

The manager takes client problems from start to finish, covering the user experience, APIs, data and continuous iteration. The manager writes and reviews code early on, then shifts toward developing people and infrastructure as the team grows. The role values reusable platforms over one-off builds, the removal of old technical debt and feature flags, and using AI tools to accelerate delivery while keeping complete responsibility for what ships. The job also includes reviewing architecture for large-scale, event-driven transaction systems running on AWS and BigQuery.

The posting also covers hiring, coaching, delivery planning, keeping services dependable, and working with Product and Design on client solutions. It asks for experience leading software teams, a solid computer science base, hands-on work with distributed systems, and a strong product and quality outlook for money-movement platforms. Experience in fintech or regulated sectors is a plus. Ebury is described as a fintech headquartered in London that moves money across borders in more than 140 currencies and is backed by Santander.
