Ro operates a vertically integrated digital healthcare platform that merges telehealth, diagnostics, pharmacy, and logistics to provide an end-to-end patient experience. In this position, the engineering manager will direct the technical and execution strategies for product areas that support millions of patients throughout their medical journeys, from care coordination to provider communication. The role requires partnering closely with design, product, and data departments to translate complicated healthcare workflows into streamlined digital experiences. This opportunity suits a hands-on leader who can navigate ambiguity, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and maintain technical depth while mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the execution and technical direction for a full-stack engineering team focused on patient experience surfaces.
  • Help shape AI-enabled patient features while maintaining reliability, quality, and user trust.
  • Collaborate with design and product colleagues to transform complex healthcare procedures into simple digital tools.
  • Convert ambiguous business and patient challenges into actionable priorities and clear execution plans.
  • Coordinate across engineering groups to link underlying systems and ensure a seamless patient journey.
  • Coach and develop team members while remaining close to hands-on technical decisions and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams with a record of coaching and standard-setting.
  • Demonstrated ownership of consumer-facing products that link technical decisions to business and customer results.
  • Strong product intuition and user experience instincts to simplify complex underlying systems.
  • Technical depth and judgment to engage in architecture discussions and support senior engineers.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and drive momentum without finalized dependencies.
  • Cross-functional communication skills and experience driving initiatives across systems owned by other teams.
  • Technical fluency in React, TypeScript, and backend technologies such as Python.
  • Data-driven approach to product development with experience measuring impact and iterating based on learnings.
