Job Description
Gusto operates a platform serving over half a million small businesses nationwide by managing payroll, employee health insurance, retirement plans, and human resources tasks. As part of the Financial Crime Compliance program, the company seeks a Senior Enhanced Due Diligence Investigations Analyst to join the EDD Investigations team as an individual contributor. In this role, the analyst manages intricate financial crime, reputational, and regulatory risk reviews for high-risk clients and layered organizational structures.

The role suits an investigative professional experienced in compliance who is comfortable handling ambiguous, elevated-risk scenarios and mentoring less experienced team members. Gusto provides competitive compensation packages that include base pay, equity in the form of RSUs, and performance bonuses, with exact pay determined by factors like candidate expertise and geographical area.

- Resolve EDD alerts related to sanctions, adverse media, politically exposed persons, and marijuana-related businesses, escalating issues to leadership when necessary.
- Execute Know Your Customer reviews during client onboarding to verify business identity, legitimacy, and beneficial ownership.
- Utilize AI-driven applications to speed up alert triage, issue identification, and documentation while validating outputs for accuracy.
- Refine operational workflows, update desktop guides, and contribute training materials to support ongoing program enhancement.
- Mentor junior analysts through case evaluations and structured feedback on research methods and risk documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of work background in enhanced due diligence, anti-money laundering investigations, customer due diligence, or related investigative research.
