Midlands State University invites applications for a Field General Hand to join its Cannabis Center located at the Kwekwe campus. Responsibilities
- Prepare, plant, weed, and irrigate cannabis fields
- Monitor cannabis fields regularly to scout for pests and diseases
- Apply pest and disease control measures
- Propagate cannabis plants utilizing cuttings
- Maintain logs and records of farming inputs, tools, and equipment
- Clean agricultural tools after use
- Harvest and grade cannabis flowers, seeds, and fiber
- Fill water storage tanks for ongoing farm use
- Carry out additional assignments given by the cannabis team
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 Ordinary Level passes, including English and Science
- At least 2 years of prior work history as a farm general hand or gardener
- Age between 20 and 40 years old
- Demonstrated physical fitness and the ability to work extended hours
- Function as a self-starter
