Job Description

This is a remote, full-time analytics position within the FinOps squad of SEEK's Cloud Enablement group. The role converts cloud, AI and SaaS spending information into insight that engineers, finance staff and senior executives can use. The analyst is responsible for the data sets, models and dashboards that make technology costs transparent, explainable and predictable.

Typical tasks include pulling cost records from AWS usage reports, from BigQuery billing exports on GCP and from vendor interfaces, then structuring them into datasets ready for querying. The analyst builds and upkeeps QuickSight reports on expenditure, trends, projections and savings options, and applies statistical and machine-learning methods to flag unusual costs across many accounts and clouds. Unit economics such as spend per customer, per listing, per API request or per model inference are also modelled. The work extends to AI and ML usage, covering token volumes, inference spend, GPU use and API charges, and includes using AI tools to draft insights that people then check.

Candidates should hold a bachelor's qualification in a numerate discipline or bring equivalent work experience. Proficiency in SQL and data-modelling is essential, experience with very large billing datasets, dashboard-building for both technical and executive audiences, and Python or R for analysis and scripted reporting are essential. Familiarity with cloud-cost software and FinOps tools, practical forecasting and anomaly work, and a careful approach to data quality are needed. Certifications in AWS, GCP or FinOps, along with experience in AI cost management, pipeline tooling and unit economics, are regarded as extras. Applicants must have legal entitlement to work, or they will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Structure cloud, AI and SaaS spend and usage records into dependable, query-ready datasets
  • Develop and maintain QuickSight views on costs, trends, forecasts and savings
  • Use statistics and machine learning to catch cost anomalies and seasonal patterns
  • Model unit economics such as spend per customer, listing, API request or inference
  • Expand FinOps reporting to AI and ML workloads, including tokens, inference, GPUs and APIs
  • Use AI tooling and agent-style workflows for reporting, with human review
  • Partner with engineering, operations and finance to match resource use to budgets

Requirements

  • Solid SQL and data modelling know-how, including work with large, granular billing data
  • Demonstrated record of building BI dashboards for engineers and executives
  • Python or R for analysis, modelling and automating reports
  • Hands-on work with cloud cost tools and billing data sources
  • Hands-on forecasting, trend work and anomaly spotting
  • Disciplined approach to data quality, reconciliation and documentation
  • Clear analytical, written and collaborative communication

Qualifications

  • Degree-level study in data science, statistics, computing, IT, finance or economics, or a comparable numerate field, or equivalent work experience
  • AWS, GCP or FinOps certification
  • Agile practice and version-controlled analytics work
  • Use of FinOps methods for AI workloads, and AI in support of FinOps
  • Regression, time-series and changepoint methods
  • Constructing and running data pipelines and transformation layers
  • Unit economics modelling in product, platform or marketplace businesses

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Flexible working arrangements, combining office and home-based days
  • Annual performance bonus scheme
  • Up to four weeks per financial year working from anywhere
  • Regular social events and casual dress every day
