This position operates at the intersection of client delivery, product development, software engineering, and artificial intelligence.
In this capacity, you will embed directly with client stakeholders and internal teams to analyze complex business workflows, conceptualize technical solutions, and deploy robust, production-quality software. The work goes beyond writing prompts or using models, requiring you to engineer the surrounding systems—such as agent loops, harnesses, state graphs, tools, observability, permissions, and evaluation frameworks—to ensure AI applications perform reliably in real-world scenarios.
This role is well-suited for an adaptable engineer who enjoys direct customer interaction, thrives in fast-moving environments, and excels at bridging the gap between open-ended discovery and technical delivery. Successful candidates will balance model capability with cost, latency, security, and user experience while helping clients navigate complex technological evolution.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with clients to analyze operational constraints, objectives, workflows, and technical environments
- Translate ambiguous business challenges into clear solution architectures, technical requirements, prototypes, and delivery plans
- Design and build full-stack products, APIs, data pipelines, developer tools, and AI-enabled applications
- Engineer supporting frameworks for AI models, encompassing prompts, context, memory, tools, permissions, runtime controls, and observability
- Construct and refine agent loops supporting planning, tool selection, execution, observation, reflection, recovery, and termination
- Model intricate workflows as state machines, graphs, or orchestration patterns that coordinate models, data, tools, systems, and human approvals
- Establish evaluation frameworks to measure task completion, accuracy, safety, reliability, latency, cost, and user value
- Develop rapid prototypes and proofs of concept, validate them with users, and evolve them into secure, scalable products
- Integrate solutions with enterprise data sources, cloud platforms, client systems, and third-party services
- Work across the technology stack, contributing to backend services, user interfaces, deployment pipelines, and AI infrastructure
- Instrument AI applications to trace decisions, inspect intermediate states, diagnose failures, and monitor system performance
- Identify and address failure modes including hallucinations, looping, prompt injection, context loss, and unsafe actions
- Communicate technical decisions, progress, trade-offs, and risks clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary delivery teams including designers, product managers, engineers, and data specialists
- Establish robust engineering practices encompassing automated testing, continuous delivery, security, documentation, and observability
Requirements
- Professional experience building and deploying production-grade software, including AI-powered or agentic systems
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or another language commonly used for AI applications and developer tooling
- Practical understanding of harness engineering for designing infrastructure, controls, permissions, and feedback mechanisms for AI agents
- Experience building or working with agent loops, including planning, tool selection, execution, and recovery
- Familiarity with graph-based orchestration, state machines, and multi-step workflows
- Experience designing evaluation systems for AI applications, including benchmarks, regression suites, and human review
- Understanding of the trade-offs involved in prompts, context management, memory, retrieval, and model selection
- Experience instrumenting AI systems to trace decisions, measure quality, and diagnose failures
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and software-development practices
- Ability to collaborate directly with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of ownership, curiosity, empathy, and a bias toward action
Qualifications
- Experience with agent frameworks, workflow engines, coding agents, or custom model-orchestration systems
- Experience creating tool interfaces, execution sandboxes, and human-in-the-loop controls
- Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector search, knowledge graphs, and fine-tuning
- Experience evaluating AI systems using golden datasets, adversarial testing, and online experiments
- Familiarity with AI observability, token and cost analysis, and failure classification
- Experience using cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
- Experience with containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD tooling
- Contributions to open-source projects related to AI infrastructure, evaluation tooling, or agent frameworks
- Experience working in regulated or complex enterprise environments
- Experience in consulting, professional services, solutions engineering, or sales engineering
- Claude Certified Architect - Foundations or Professional certification (or equivalent)
