Job Description

DeepHealth is recruiting a Forward Deployment Engineer whose focus is its enterprise diagnostic Viewer. The job is remote, full-time and works as an individual contributor with no direct reports. The engineer lays out how the Viewer will be set up for each customer, matching the radiologist's reading routine, including worklists, hanging protocols, priors and user roles, to product settings.

The engineer reports to the Service Engineering Lead in Enterprise Intelligence and belongs to the Forward Deployment Engineering function, which aims to make DeepHealth products work well in customers' hands. The engineer collaborates with delivery managers, product staff and service teams, shares proven methods with the delivery groups, and helps them plan the upcoming changes they need to be commercially ready for.

Much of the day involves discovery sessions with clients and implementation staff, covering DICOM and HL7 data movement, integrations, data for migration, and network and security demands. The engineer leads customer-facing technical work at launch, during post-launch support and in escalations, and acts as the go-to person for Viewer problems at assigned accounts, handling reproduction and root-cause investigation. About 20 to 30 percent of the time is spent on this support. The engineer also owns the Viewer's AI adoption plan, sets requirements and success measures, and helps customers as AI-enabled imaging workflows and agents become available. Up to 25 percent travel is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and configure the Viewer for each customer, tying clinicians' reading habits to the right product options such as queues, display layouts, comparison images and access roles
  • Lead discovery on data exchange between HL7 and DICOM systems, integrations, legacy data for migration, and network and security demands
  • Mentor implementation staff and customer admins on proper setup, and write the configuration standards, baseline setups and playbooks
  • Lead the customer-facing technical side of launches, hypercare and escalations, and communicate status, choices and expectations for clinicians and IT teams
  • Be the go-to person for Viewer faults in assigned accounts, handling reproduction, root cause analysis and fixes with engineering
  • Convert recurring customer requests into standard workflows and product requirements
  • Handle escalated engineering defects for assigned accounts, from triage through to customer follow-up
  • Set up and support AI-enabled workflows and agents, such as AI-assisted reporting, auto-assignment and smart hanging protocols, as they become available
  • Test releases and hotfixes on representative customer setups, both before and after they go live
  • Track service health, join incident response and push engineering on reliability improvements

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science or biomedical engineering, health informatics or information systems, or an equivalent blend of schooling and experience
  • Over eight years in clinical IT, medical imaging or hospital systems
  • Five-plus years in a front-line technical position for PACS or imaging platforms, as a PACS admin, applications specialist, solutions architect, deployment specialist or Level 3 engineer
  • Detailed grasp of DICOM essentials (SOP classes, tags, query and retrieve, presentation states, hanging protocols) plus working familiarity with HL7 v2 (ADT, ORM, ORU)
  • Practical experience setting up and debugging radiology image viewers
  • Solid grasp of radiology operations, covering RIS, worklists, reading and reporting
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure), with networking know-how and SSO or other authentication
  • Ability to explain technical trade-offs to clinicians, IT leaders and executives, even under escalation
  • Microsoft Office experience

Qualifications

  • CIIP, PARCA or ARRT credential in imaging informatics or clinical practice
  • Hands-on work deploying or maintaining clinical AI applications in radiology
  • Familiarity with regulated medical device standards (FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and ITIL practices
